Scammed in Haiti
Posted by faithandthelaw on July 23, 2010
My friend Heather, who at this moment is in Haiti risking her life to help the orphans and children of Haiti, has opened up my eyes that so many good people who gave money to Haiti are being scammed by so many of these so called relief organizations. All this money has poured into Haiti and so little of it is getting to the Haitian people. As I write this, riots are breaking out in the tent cities, women are being raped, children are dying and the the corrupt politicians and organizations are lining their pockets and doing very little if anything to alleviate the unfathomable suffering of the Haitian people. We get such a distorted view on the televison and Washington has become more concerned, as most politicians, about their image then getting involved in something and doing something that has some substance. It would blow your mind and sicken your heart if you knew the level of corruption and greed that has infected Haiti. For so many it has become all about making money as their hearts simply do not care what happens to the worn down and homeless Haitian people who are refugees without the basic necessities of life, prisoners in their own country. I am going to expose some of these groups as well as let you know what groups are legitimately helping the Haitian people. The children are the ones that are suffering the most as Heather rescued a new baby today that was thrown in a trash heap to die and she rescued her for a legitimate and wonderful orphange and named her Justice. Where is the justice in Haiti? Haiti has drawn evil in like a magnet because evil people see a chance to become rich, promote themselves and their organizations and leaving the crying people of Haiti without shelter, food, water and ready to die. Do you know some of these “orphanages” are selling the kids into sex trafficking? It is unimaginable yet is happening. The world has been scammed in Haiti and while the politicians write articles and do cameo interviews and say everything is ok and keep sending your money, Haiti sinks into further desparation and oblivian. It must stop. It must stop now. We can have all the telethons in the world, but if the money is not reaching the Haiti people and rebuilding their country, then what are we doing? The love of money truly is the root of all evil and the millions pouring into Haiti has been the feeding ground of corruption, greed and insanity. The scale and breadth of this corruption is unprecedented. My eyes have been opened and my heart grieves for the people of Haiti. God bless you Heather and so many wonderful people who are risking their lives to help these broken down men, women and children in despair. My prayer is the eyes of the world are opened to this scam of monumental and life-threatening proportions.
Editor note: I will be following up this article with a list of legitimate and non-legitimate organizations to provide money to in Haiti.
